The key benefits of our Rack Inspection service

1. Enhanced Structural Safety

Early Detection of Critical Damage: Identifies structural issues such as buckling, bent components, broken welds, or upright misalignment before they escalate into dangerous failures.

Prevention of Catastrophic Collapse: Reduces risk of racking collapse by ensuring load-bearing elements remain within safe tolerance levels.

2. Legal & Regulatory Compliance

Meets HSE & SEMA Standards: Supports compliance with HSG 76, PUWER, BS EN 15635, and other UK safety regulations.

Documentation for Audits: Provides formal records of inspections to demonstrate due diligence and compliance during health & safety audits.

3. Reduced Downtime & Operational Disruption

Proactive Maintenance: Enables planned repairs and maintenance rather than emergency responses to racking failures.

Minimised Equipment Damage: Identifies and prevents use of damaged pallets or incompatible mechanical handling equipment (MHE), reducing strain on the racking system.

4. Cost Savings

Avoids Expensive Repairs: Regular inspections prevent minor issues from becoming costly structural failures.

Extends Equipment Life: Proper care and monitoring extend the lifespan of racking, reducing the need for early replacement.

5. Improved Workplace Safety Culture

Promotes Reporting Culture: Encourages operatives to identify and report damage or misuse.

Supports PRRS Role: Assists the Person Responsible for Racking Safety (PRRS) in fulfilling their obligations effectively.

Safety Signage and Training Compliance: Ensures appropriate safety signage is in place and highlights areas where staff training may be required.

6. Assurance in Repairs and Reuse

Ensures Competent Repairs: Confirms that only SEIRS-registered or equivalently trained personnel perform racking repairs or replacements.

Validates Re-used Racking: Assesses the safety of reused components to prevent latent hazards.
