Castleford based storage and logistics business, Dependall Ltd, were looking for a partner to support the re-development of areas of their 700,000 sq. ft distribution hub to better suit their ever-expanding storage requirement.
Where pick and pack had been the requirement of the previous tenant, Dependall Ltd were looking for a solution that allowed for the medium to long term storage of materials, whilst also taking full advantage of the 12-metre-high roof space.
The retention of existing pallet racking and wire-guided Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) fork trucks were both part of the in-situ set-up that needed to be included in the new design.
Oakway Storage worked with Dependall Ltd to create a new scheme of pallet racking that supported aggressive business growth plans. The team then managed the project through the procurement and installation phases to ensure a satisfactory completion on-time and on-budget.
The resulting installation created 4608 new pallet spaces which allowed access from existing VNA fork trucks.
From design to installation in 5 weeks by Oakway’s specialist installation team in 5 weeks, the install project was planned to ensure the minimum of amount of interruption to existing daily business routines, and once complete was instantly accessible for storage of materials.
