How Pallet Live Racking Systems Work
Pallet live racking systems operate using gravity-fed roller lanes that move pallets through the racking structure from the loading side to the picking or dispatch side.
Forklift trucks place pallets onto inclined lanes at the loading face. Once loaded, gravity allows pallets to roll smoothly along the rollers toward the opposite side of the system.
As a pallet is removed from the picking face, the next pallet automatically moves forward into position. This creates a continuous flow of goods through the racking system without requiring additional forklift movement inside the lanes.
The system typically includes upright frames, roller lanes, speed controllers, pallet separators and braking mechanisms designed to regulate pallet movement and ensure controlled operation.
By automating pallet movement within the racking structure, pallet live racking systems help warehouses improve speed, reduce manual handling and maintain consistent product flow.
